things you will need for tomorrow-

a roll of color film negatives that have been processed- we are going to go over scanning-

also, by class time- i am going to check the blog to see who has done the extra credit- it must be posted by tomorrow at 4. I have uploaded the process of how to do it- so it should be fairly simple- i encourage you to do this.

Sedoctaves CD release

HI PHOTO FRIENDS!

My a cappella group (The Sedoctaves) is having a CD release party TOMORROW night at Hillel at 9 PM! We will be singing songs from our CD "Sealed With a Kiss" and some new ones that we have been working on. There will be some snacks and beer, and it should be fun!

easy discriptions on how to upload photo......

In order to participate in the Harn Transitions project and have your image and statement shown both on the web and in the Harn gallery please do the following:


1.Up-load your picture to your own flickr account (use the description space to write your personal statement about your Hopes, Dreams and Fears in a transition year of your life). Please make sure you save this photo as PUBLIC (this public setting can be for this image only, not your others on your flickr site)

2.You then have to select the Harn Transitions site as one of the groups you belong. [Search for it in groups under Harn Transitions and then join)

3.Then go to the Harn Transitions page Link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/harnmuseumofart/pool/

4.Click on the "add photos" tab and select the photo you want to add from your flickr site. And it is done!



Your photo will be immediately visible to everybody on the Harn flickr site http://www.flickr.com/groups/harnmuseumofart/pool/show/
and a Harn staffer will make sure it is also linked (transferred) for viewing on the monitors in the gallery.


5. for extra credit copy and paste the link from the harn transitions page onto the vis lit blog...

FRIDAY OCT 8th!

OK! yeah! photo is awesome!

today we are going to have a field trip! well, kinda- Make sure you bring your camera and film in your camera (you do not need to have shot or developed rolls today) We will go over camera functions (aperture, shutter speed, depth of field etc) in a walk around campus 'field trip'

we will do this for half the class, and in the other half of the class we

discuss Visual Research Books
talk about artists we are researching
discuss narrative (multiple image) project in small groups
demo tri-pod

So you will need to bring-

camera with film
your visual research books
at least the name of one artist to share
some ideas about your project
